We normally have the same boring steamed broccoli or cauliflower for a side. I tried a variation with a navel orange while making Herb Oat-Crusted Chicken with a rich lemon-caper sauce over whole wheat pasta.
Ingredients
2 heads of broccoli cut into pieces
1 head of cauliflower cut into pieces
1 navel orange
Directions
1. Boil broccoli and cauliflower in a pot of water
2. Add zest of the entire orange and juice of the orange to the boiling water
3. Cook until veggies are tender.
